Soccer Game #1

Well, soccer season is underway! No more carefree lazy Saturday mornings for us! Abby's team is coming together but has it been a slow process. We have alot of new players, I mean new to soccer entirely!!! We lost this first game. I guess you could say the other team was just better than us. Abby played hard and was really proud and had fun even though they lost. But its going to be a LOOOOONG season! :)

Spring Soccer Season...

Well, its that time again! Abby is playing soccer again this season. She loves it. We play AYSO Region 337. This season she got the same coach and two of her old teammates also returned to the team. She was excited Rachel and Brenna were back on the team. We have had two practices so far. Abby is more aggressive this season so that is definately a positive. I could not believe it when I noticed she was the smallest (not youngest) on the team but she is fast and does really good.

We bought her some new equipment. New Nike shin guards and new Joma cleats. She also got some new soccer socks too. So she is hooked up and ready to play!

She will be attending Lady Vols Soccer Clinic next week then in the summer she is going to Lady Vols Soccer Camp for an entire week. I think we have found her sport. She loves it. No more free Saturdays for me!

Date Night Part 2

My Future Hockey Player Hubby

Hockey Skates!!

My poor knee, all red and swollen, 4 days later I still cant stand for anything to touch it!

His arm NEVER went down! He said he was nervous and couldnt put it down! LOL

My new keyboard!

Now that's how the Riggs' end a great date night!!!!! Here's to next time!!!!

We went ice skating of Saturday. All I can say is WOW, what an experience that was. A wake up call also---I'm getting older and I am totally out of shape! LOL Chad wants to play hockey with some friends from work and needs to learn to ice skate. Neither of us did very well at all, Chad fell ALOT! But he managed to get right back up and go again. Me on the other hand. I fell one time, landed right on my knees and hands and it hurt so bad I started sweating and thought I was going to get sick. My knees were on fire with pain. I ended up having to take my skates off and just walk around for a few minutes. I did go back out there one more time and decided I was finished for the day. I was tired, hurt, embarrassed, and hungry. Yes it was time to leave!!

We went to Irish Times for dinner. They have the BEST cheesebuger and fries money can buy!! After the day I had I had to order a glass of wine and Chad got his favorite beer-----a Smithwick's. That seemed to make us both feel better!!

After dinner we went to Best Buy and I bought me a new keyboard for my computer. I am still getting used to it so I am hoping for no typos!

A Night Out! Boy was it ever....

This weekend Chad and I sent the kids to my parents house so we could spend some time together. Friday was hectic, Chad had training at work until noon and I had to get both kids packed up and laundry done. Brady and I went to Babies R Us and did finally find him a smaller stroller. We ended up with the Chicco one. I love it. However I do wish the smaller strollers had cup holders.

Finally getting both kids off to my parents we headed to Sevierville to the Tanger Outlet Mall. We found some great deals at Carter's! I LOVE LOVE the Under Armour store. I bought a pair of tennis shoes last night. This is my second pair of shoes from there and I just cant tell you how comfortable these shoes are! Chad was a little bummed, he wanted a toboggan but they didn't have any men's ones left. We also went to the Adidas store, where Chad tried on some pants that had both of us rolling in the floor laughing, they were TIGHT!! LOL Then we made it to the Nike store where we found Abby some shin guards for soccer and finally Chad found him some head gear! Bald men need toboggans!

The trip home was full of some interesting and extremely funny conversation. Its been awhile since we just let loose and had such a great time! But little did we know that funniest part of the night was yet to come............

Dinner at Aubrey's. We had never eaten there and thought it would be fun to try some place new. Might I add it was GREAT! Chicken Tenders and the Cinnamon Apples are to die for! As we were eating some really crude and obnoxious people ended up sitting behind us. They were older people but very irritating. The men were older and had some colorful language to say the least. The ladies with them were also older "cougar" type ladies dressed to the tee! Here's the funniest thing I have ever seen in my life, I was DYING trying to finish dinner and not totally crack up. One of the ladies left the table, I am assuming she went to the restroom, well on her way back, right as she passed our table she fell. Normally this would not be so funny but my first reaction was "What the hell was that? If your going to fall- FALL, don't just dramatically lay down under our table!" LOL I have never in my life seen anyone fall that way, she just very slowly lunged forward, spread out and just laid down. I've never seen anyone fall so gracefully and slow, then to make it worse she just laid there on her side as if she was in bed. Her husband all of a sudden got a "sweet" voice and goes "Oh my god, are you OK, what happened?" and he just kept looking down at her never offering to help her up( What happened? It was pretty clear what had happened- she dramatically laid down under our table!!! LOL LOL ). Chad of course makes it worse for me, he just casually looks over like "what in the world" and just keeps looking at her lying there, then he looks back at me with the straightest face and starts kicking me under the table! My wonderful husband didn't even offer to help her up, but hey neither did her husband either! I was DYING, DYING! After she got up, her husband ( I am assuming it was her husband)started talking about it and all I heard was " It had nothing to do with alcohol, my heel got caught" Caught on what we aren't sure, the floor was smooth! LOL Then her husband said "Well you had to &%$#ing fall!" He really had NO compassion for her but hey neither did the rest of us cracking up! I barely made it out the door before I totally lost it and I laughed so hard I couldn't breath and the ride home was pretty rough! I literally got so tickled at what had happened and at Chad's comments and his reenacting it that I peed myself. I should be horrified that I did that but to do it laughing so hard...well what can I say, it was hilarious. I guess you just had to be there to really understand how funny it was but it was a GREAT night!!!!

A mother has to brag sometimes............

Well, First grade has been exciting for us. I am definitely bragging on my little girl right now. A mother can and should do that from time to time.

Abby loves school and I am so proud of the things she has accomplished this year. Her class has 3 levels of reading groups. Abby took a reading test at the beginning of the year and was placed in the top group. She loves to read and reads all the time. As of her last evaluation she is reading on a 3.4 reading level which means she is reading at what an average 3rd grader in their 4th month of 3rd grade would be reading at. I was so proud when the school asked her if she would like to read passages during church and she said yes. She also received a Certificate for participating in Read Across America Day. She volunteered to read a Dr. Seuss book to some 6th graders.

Her next class she loves is Spelling. She hates writing her spelling words 3 times each on Monday nights but is really motivated to not misspell anything on her tests!

Her favorite classes are Christian Doctrine,Spelling, Music, Art, and PE! Who doesn't like PE! LOL

I just wanted to share with you some of her recent work, I am just a proud mom who wants to tell everyone to enjoy their kids school year. Those little papers with their handwriting on them are so precious and they are SOOOO proud of them!

Photo Shoot

So I have decided to make homemade St. Patricks Day cards and mail them out to friends and family. I wanted to dress the kids up in their green clothes and have a really nice picture for the card. OHHHHH how I forgot that an almost one year old will not sit still....what a mess.....LOL. So here are some pics from spending my entire afternoon trying to get one, yes one decent picture!!

Gotta Love Vera!

I finally broke down and got a new Vera Bradley Purse this week. I was totally obsessed with them for several years. Then I discovered Kathy Van Zeeland and had a couple of her bags recently. I was shopping at Sam's and spotted a Vera in a shopping cart......OMG! It was so pretty, I had to have one again. The color is Symphany in Hue and I got the Betsy. I guess I am back on Vera again! How could I have ever drifted away????? :)
