So YES, I have to admit that I was sucked into the world of Christian Grey and Ana Steele last week. WOW, what a ride that was. Its been YEARS since I couldn't put a book down....especially 3 books. A friend of mine told me about these books by E.L. James so I thought...OK I don't have anything else to do after the kids go to bed, I will check them out.....BAD (or GREAT) Idea!!! I stayed up until 3:30am reading Fifty Shades of Grey, the next night I stayed up until 4:00am reading Fifty Shades Darker, and on the third night I was running on pure adrenaline at 5am when I finished Fifty Shades Freed.
I do have to say these books are not for the weak...or anyone who embarrasses easily! I was Fifty Shades of Red after reading these books but I will openly admit I enjoyed EVERY LAST MINUTE OF THEM!!!!!
Some circles are calling it "mommy porn" and some call it "erotica" honestly, I don't know what to call it except pure uber romance!!!! There were times while reading these books I could feel my heart pounding waiting to see what would happen next. I laughed, cried, gasped, and dropped my jaw so many times I cant count.
My husband has enjoyed me talking about these, he's made fun of me, and actually suggested I may need to be DE-Greyed!! LOL
Apparently their are talks in the works to make this into a movie. I honestly cant see it on the big screen. Showtime or HBO maybe. They pulled the Tudors off so I think they could make a great series with these books. There are some VERY graphic scenes that I don't know HOW they could pull off without ruining the books but I kind of hope they do try to film it.
Alot of blogs and circles are talking about "who would play Christian Grey?" or "who would play Ana?" I am still at a loss for who would make a good Anna. I was sold on Jonathan Rhys Meyers playing Christian until I saw a photo of Henry Cavill....who also starred in The Tudors...to me this photo IS Christian Grey and Ana Steele!
I cant wait to see if there is a 4th book or if it goes to the big screen or if they make it a series...who knows but I guess I will just have to wait and see.
It was a great read...I'm so glad I read them and will probably remember these books for the rest of my life...WOW!
Oddly enough, these books have made me appreciate my husband so much more and I am so thankful to have the kind of marriage I do...even if I do see a little "Fifty" in my husband from time to time...its a good thing!!!!
Hi...I stumbled upon your blog when I was googling Henry Cavill and thinking of him as Christian Grey...totally agrees with you 100% about everything you've said...I too did the same thing about these books and couldn't put them down and had a combined sleep total of 4 hours over three nights. I too was running on pure adrenaline. My husband has enjoyed my love of the books and told me Laters, baby this morning as he headed to work and I of course, giggled like a little school girl...Enjoyed reading your blog and am so glad that there is another "kindred-grey" spirit about...LOL.... : ) Have a wonderful day! ReplyDeleteTotally loved the books! My 1st & only thought of Christian while reading was Henry Cavill. Then = saw the Dubhill Black ads on youtube where your picture comes from & thought I knew I was Right! Those ads SCREAM Fifty! Its like watching a mini 50 shades movie. I loved him in Tudors also & for him only. I just hope he would take the part of Christian if offered. He is all Christian. He has the looks, the body, the eyes & can play painful, seductive, domineering & lost boy. He also has that great boyish smile & looks yummy in a suit. Since he was on Tudors, obviously he has no problem with the steamy scenes & nudity at all! He his all man & all CHristian! People worry it would ruin hims for Superman but I think if they hired him after Tudors, why would it be a problem now. I hardly think young boys who idolize superman would be watching this fim! As for Ana,I like Alexandra Daddario from Percy Jackson who has the long brown hair, big blue eyes, & alabaster skin. At 26 she is also mature enough to handle the sex scenes & her look is interchangable. She can look 22 & innocent yet grow with the character to being sexy & strong to becoming a mother. My 2nd choice is Lindsey Fonseca from Nikita who also has the same features. Here's hoping our wish comes true!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ladies, Im glad you liked my blog on Fifty Shades. It is by far my favorite book ever!! I am thinking Ian Somerhalder would be the perfect Fifty! Ive watched him in The Vampire Diaries and its almost like watching Christian on screen already!! LOL
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the wonderful book! I finished it a few days ago and cannot get it out of my head. It is pure magic. It was everything I hoped it would be and much more....50 Shades Movie
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for the movie. I loved the books. I should agree these are the best written books.
ReplyDelete50 Shades Movie
Im pretty happy with Jamie as CG as long as he can get rid of that Irish accent..:) I am not a fan of Dakota as Ana....to me Ana needed to be more "innocent and young". Also, in the books it talks about CG staring down and Ana and she curls up in his lap...Dakota doesn't seem petite enough for those tender moments. Maybe I will be pleasantly surprised but IDK. Seems the cast doesn't "look" like what we imagine but lets hope it all comes together!!
